Gymshark has introduced a new headband tailored specifically for people with textured hair, offering a practical and stylish solution for those looking to stay comfortable and focused during workouts.
The Diffuse Sweat Headband features a double-layer construction with stretch-to-fit material, designed to accommodate various hairstyles, including wigs, box braids, and more. With sweat-wicking properties, the headband provides full coverage across most of the head, drawing moisture away from the skin and transferring it to the outer layer to keep hair dry and secure during intense activities.
Nichola Harris, Gymshark’s senior designer for headwear and accessories, explained the motivation behind the design: “We created this headband to address the challenges that people with textured hair often face when working out, like timing workouts around hair wash days or adjusting hairstyles. Our goal is to give everyone, regardless of hair type, the freedom to train whenever they want without worrying about their hair. We chose seamless fabric for its superior sweat-wicking abilities, so your hair stays in place and sweat stays out of your face no matter how hard you’re working.”
To promote the launch of this sleek, functional headband, Gymshark has partnered with Whitney Adebayo, a Love Islandstar and owner of a hair brand, who will serve as an ambassador for the product. Adebayo, a Nigerian woman with extensive experience in the hair industry, expressed her excitement about the collaboration: “It’s been a dream to work with Gymshark on an inclusive line of headbands. As someone who’s spent my entire career in the hair industry, I’ve seen firsthand how much of a gap there is in the fitness market for people with textured hair.”
The Diffuse Sweat Headband will be priced at £20 / $22 USD and will be available exclusively on gymshark.com starting February 15.
